Alma Nursery was founded in 1988 by horticulturist and landscaper, Tjaart van der Walt Snr. Since it has expanded to become the largest garden centre in the Goldfields. Today it’s a family run business that includes his Tjaart, his wife, Ester and their children Tjaart Jnr, Hendrik and Lynette (and, of course, a beautiful line of grandchildren).

We operate our business from the core value of having family values, to provide an environment where you and your family can escape the city and relax in a safe, outside space. Our team, bigger than ever, work hard and smart to offer only the best on the market – be it a  wide variety of products, quality plants or professional services. We keep abreast the ever-changing market and gardening ideas and we’re motivated to educate any members of the society on waterwise gardening, saving water as well as the ecological and environmental value of trees and plants.

Tjaart and sons also grow their own plants, trees, vegetables and herbs to cut back on delivery costs and save you money. We invite you to compare our prices to that of the industry.
